Can you make sugar cookies w/o vanilla extract & baking powder?

If so do you have a recipe? Can you make sugar cookies w/o vanilla extract %26amp; baking powder?
I have - lots of times.

Use the recipe you have and just omit those 2 ingredients.

Baking powder only makes them rise...so, who cares if they're flat, right?

And I never really ';taste'; the vanilla (do you?) but for flavor, maybe add a little cinnamon to the mix.Can you make sugar cookies w/o vanilla extract %26amp; baking powder?
You asked earlier about what to make with a set of ingredients, right?

Since you want to have something sweet, don't worry about not having all the ingredients. Just use what you have. The sugar cookies won't rise without the baking powder, and they won't taste the same without vanilla, but it will be something for your sweet tooth.

The other option is to put the frosting on plain bread.

It's a good idea to keep things like vanilla and baking powder in your cupboard so that you can bake something when you have a sugar attack. Pick out a few simple cookie recipes and keep the dry ingredients on hand. You could also get all the ingredients, make the dough, separate it into bakeable pieces, freeze them, and bake them as the mood strikes.
Use another flavoring in lieu of the vanilla. Try orange extract, this will give your recipe a unique burst of citrus. Another favorite is almond extract.

For the baking soda substitute 1 t. of baking powder with a mixture of 1/4 t. baking soda and 1/2 t. cream of tarter.
You can do without the vanilla, but not without the baking powder.
with vainilla itself
