I doubt that you can buy soap powder anymore. Soap is made from lye and oil, grease, whatever. Detergents are made from petrochemicals. For laundry, detergents are a big improvement over regular soap, because they clean better and rinse out much, much better. However, if you can find a bar of old fashioned lye soap, it's great for getting stains out of laundry. Rub it on the stain (especially ring around the collar) before you put the clothes in the washing machine.





For personal use, soap, especially glycerin soap, is better because it doesn't dry skin out as badly as detergent.





Soap flakes and soap powder are just different forms of the same thing.

There different soap flakes is natural its like grated soap but better used with warm water or you can pre soak the flakes in water 1st just so its easly broken down.....better to if you have allergies soap powder has a lot of fillers even fine glass and known chemicals.....it depends i guess if you want a healthy familly but soap flakes wash just as good......and safer for the enviroment also......hope this helps......
