When the sun shines on my face my foundation looks like powder and cakey why?

Sounds like you are putting too much on. Even a more expensive brand will look cakey if overapplied. When the sun shines on my face my foundation looks like powder and cakey why?
depends on if its the right make up for your face!

sometimes this happens because your face is dry and your using a powdery finish and need more of a luid texture to blend in the feel of your skin.

also, this may happen because your using the wrong color for your skin, go to a make up counter that you are interested in using (try M.A.C studio tech foundation- the colors match 100% of people and you will LOVE the feel!) and ask them to match you- they will be happy to! and give you advice..

good luck! When the sun shines on my face my foundation looks like powder and cakey why?
You are applying it too heavily. Switch to something light such as Bare Escentuals (same as Bare Minerals). You can buy the Get Started Kit for $29.99. Here is the link:

I recommend it for all skin types and colors. It is light and airy and lets your pores breathe but gives excellent coverage.

You can buy a USA Designer bag to show off your new look. You can find it at this link:
The question is, Do You Moisturize? What brand are you wearing? What is the texture of the Make up (liquid, cream, powder base)? Are you setting the foundation with a powder? There are many reasons as to why you foundation does that. Answers these questions for me and and i can give you a proper answer. I am a make up artist ready to help you!
the chemicals in the make-up. Depends on what brand you use. I use bare minerals. This makes your skin look like you don't even have make-up on. If you don't want that cakey look...use bare minerals. www.bareminerals.com
It depends on the brand you use. Like the other girl said, bare minerals looks best. It gives you this really healthy looking glow and it looks completely natural; you can't even tell you have make up on!
