How do you pick the perfect color for your skin color in foundation or powder at a Drug Store ...?

that doesn't have makeup artist or sample/testers?

I use to always wear MAC and so I had the makeup artist help me and I was a NC35 but I'm clueless to what to get and what color? when I first started wearing makeup my mom would buy me Mary Kay and so that makeup artist would find my perfect match for me too.How do you pick the perfect color for your skin color in foundation or powder at a Drug Store ...?
There are several things you could do. Take a compact mirror with you when you go to the drugstore. Stand near the door entrance (where there is natural light) and hold the bottle up to your jawline to see if it matches. You could also bring your old foundation (the one where you were perfectly matched) and try to match it with one in the drugstore. Most drugstores let you return the makeup if you picked out the wrong color. Hope this helps!

i dont know im an idiot at finding my shade but look for a mirror and check to see iwhich ones is closet and then check to see if it is returnable in case you get the wrong shade but i think its loreal or covergirl they have this sheet next to the foundation where you put youre hand under it and you see what color dissapers to your hand
try it out on the back of your hand
get a similar shade of loose mineral powder. mineral powder adapts to your skin and loose powder just kinda blends in. hope this helps =]
if you go to shoppers drug mart, or the body shop, or MAC or whatever if you ask the lady what shade of foundation matches you they will sit you down and profeesionaly pick a shade.

tip: go to a makeup store that has a makeup artist. pretend you want to buy foundation. once they have selected your shade, write it down and say you will be back to buy it with your money. then go to the store that you want to buy it from, find the shade and buy it there. this helps you save money LOL
Dab some foundation on your chin and blend into your face, if it's not noticeable then it's probably good.
u dont, u go to a professional store and cut out the crap
Go to which ever make-up company you prefer, and go to there websites there are helpful tips there.
I have always heard the inside of your wrist is the same shade as your face. So try it the next time you are shopping~ take either a dab if liquid ~ or a brush stroke of powder ~ to see which shade blends in most naturally -- it really has worked for me ! Good luck !
